English Transcribers — Technical Training Courses

The position: Pre-Production Transcriber

The main responsibility is to create the English script directly from the video using our browser-based platform. This is not a translation position. You will listen to the original English video and accurately transcribe the content into the platform. A separate team member will review the completed script afterward.

Because of the technical nature of the content, accuracy is extremely important, especially when transcribing numbers, measurements and code references.

Responsibilities

• Listen carefully to recorded U.S. English lessons and create an accurate script
• Transcribe dialogue directly from the video into our platform
• Accurately capture numbers, measurements, technical terms and electrical code references
• Identify speakers when required
• Follow the client's transcription guidelines and our internal instructions
• Review your work for accuracy before submitting it
• Maintain consistency throughout the assigned content
• Meet the expected daily volume and project deadlines

Requirements

• Native or near-native English proficiency, with excellent listening comprehension
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong ability to accurately identify and transcribe numbers, figures, measurements and technical references
• Ability to understand U.S. English and technical terminology
• Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, captioning or similar work is highly preferred
• Ability to work independently and meet daily targets
• Comfortable working with confidential client material

Volume and availability

• 89 videos, approximately 1,010 total video minutes
• Individual video length ranges from approximately 1 to 56 minutes
• The volume will be distributed among approximately 4 transcribers
• Approximately 250 video minutes per transcriber
• Expected daily capacity: at least 22 video minutes per day
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Estimated duration: approximately 12 business days

Rate

USD $1.50 per video minute.

Platform and workflow

The work is completed through our browser-based platform. You will access the platform using your Google account. We will provide:

• Platform access
• Client guidelines
• Transcription instructions
• Any additional information needed to complete the project

Confidentiality

The material is confidential and covered by our agreement with the client. All project content must be handled confidentially and may not be shared, downloaded, distributed or used outside of the project.

Payment and communication

• Freelancer contract
• Payments via Payoneer or bank transfer
• 30 business day payment terms
• Project communication through Slack
